We’re proud to introduce you to streamSAVE, a new Horizon2020 project which supports European Member States by streamlining energy savings calculations. VITO/EnergyVille is coordinating the project.
12 partners across Europe are aiming to support European Member States in the field of energy policy, more specifically Art. 3 and Art. 7 of the European Energy Efficiency Directive. This EED set of measures was designed to increase energy efficiency throughout Europe and establishes a common framework of measures for the promotion of energy efficiency within the Union. Ultimate aim is to ensure the achievement of the Union’s 2030 targets on energy efficiency and to pave the way for further energy efficiency improvements beyond that date.
The streamSAVE project specifically focuses on Art. 3 and Art. 7 of the European Energy Efficiency Directive which are devoted to energy efficiency targets (an European energy efficiency objective of 32,5% for 2030) and national energy efficiency obligation schemes, respectively. By streamlining energy savings calculations, streamSAVE wants to improve stakeholder’s capacities and skills on energy saving methodologies, which will increase Member States’ chances of successfully meeting the energy efficiency targets. Bringing these stakeholders together in a joint community, in order to create a long lasting exchange of knowledge and experience, is another goal.
To increase energy efficiency in Europe, streamSAVE sets out the following objectives for itself:
- Developing and streaming bottom-up savings methodologies. The interactive guidance on streamSAVEs platform will help to widely disperse this knowledge.
- Building capacity tailored to stakeholder needs by organising peer-to-peer dialogues. Next to the dialogues, the platform will facilitate a community of experts sharing their experiences and techno-economic details on priority actions.
- Ensuring the sustainability and replicability of the streamSAVE results towards all EU Member States.
